Stalin's Cultural Revolution

Stalin’s Cultural Revolution was part of a giant upheaval in the USSR associated with “socialist offensive”, which began with the first five-year-plans and ended in 1931. The cultural revolution signalled the return to class warfare and repudiation of everything that had been compromised by the New Economic Policy, with the targets for attack being bourgeois specialists, Nepmen, Kulaks and old intelligentsia. Non-Marxists were denounced in fields of science, cinema, the Arts, education and proletarian approaches were encouraged. The impacts of the revolution branched to different sectors of society, particularly having a great impact on women, the arts and cinema, youth groups and religion.
