About Elucidate
Elucidate Education is a not-for-profit organisation with a mission of ensuring that every Australian student has the support they need to achieve. We achieve this through providing a free learning platform and equitable textbooks to support students throughout their learning journey. For every 2 textbooks we sell, we donate a third to rural communities with limited access to educational resources.
With over 23,000 Australian users, four published textbooks, and a team of over 50 volunteers across Perth and Melbourne, Elucidate is a growing family always looking for more people to help us make a difference.
With recent funding support from the University of Melbourne, Masonic Foundation, Rotary Club of Subiaco and Rotary Club of West Perth, and other funders, we are on an exciting journey to expand our impact across Australia.

Roles and Responsibilities
We have a few different teams you can be a part of!
Textbook Team
Our textbook team have the opportunity to be part of a team of other writers working together with a Lead Author to support them. Writing usually involves a mix of writing explanations of concepts, creating worked examples to support those explanations, creating simple diagrams, writing practice questions, and writing answers for those questions.
We are currently looking for volunteers with an interest in writing textbooks for:
Physics ATAR (year 12)
Chemistry ATAR (year 11)
Online Team
Our online team create content for our website across a range of different subjects, which is all freely available for students to access. The online team usually work in a team to write online topic notes for key concepts, or creating tutorial style video presentations to explain and reinforce key concepts.
We are currently looking for volunteers with a background in the following areas:
Literature ATAR
Mathematics Applications ATAR
Psychology ATAR
If your experience is not in the subjects described above for either textbooks or online, consider applying for a position and we will contact you if we start writing for a subject you're interested in!
Marketing/Events team
We also have a dedicated team that handles marketing, social media, event planning, recruitment and so much more! If that sounds like the kind of thing you'd be interested in, we'd love to hear from you!
Leadership
After your first semester with us, you may also have the chance to step up into a leadership role (e.g. Lead Author, Online Subject Lead, or Editor) for further opportunities to have an impact and develop your skills.
What’s in it for you
You will get the opportunity to make a difference to the learning journeys of everyday young Australians. In addition, we also offer free social events to get to know other volunteers, including laser tag, bowling, board games nights and so on.
You will get the opportunity to meet other young people from all different backgrounds connected by a mission of giving back!
Elucidate is also able to officially log volunteering hours through the UWA student guild for your academic transcript.
About You
You should consider joining Elucidate’s content creator team if you:
Have a passion for giving back to the community within the area of education.
Are a high performer in your subject area and would love to teach it to help other students (for online and textbook teams).
Are able to contribute 3 -5 hours per week to helping your team, with attendance at a team catch up once a fortnight.
Want to join a community of other passionate volunteers with access to free and subsidised social events to get to know each other.
Want to invest in developing your own skills and confidence.
Want to be part of a community and get out of your comfort zone!
